Glassy micro Calcite lays over richly colored Goethite with bands of Iron red, yellow Limonite, and silvery Hematite. This beautiful piece is from the Santa Eulalia mining district in Chihuahua, Mexico, and displays the range of colors created by the mineral inclusions. The Calcite coating is naturally incomplete near the base and exposes the texture of the Goethite and Limonite.

Geothite forms as a weathering product in the oxidation zones of veins of iron minerals, such as pyrite, magnetite, and siderite. Goethite may occur with these minerals in the gossan, or iron hat, which is the weathered capping of an iron ore deposit. May also form due to the mineralization of lichen on metamorphics, granites, and feldspars.

This listing is for one crystal as pictured, please see all photos and videos and feel free to send a message if you have any further questions. I do my best to take photos in lights that are most representative of the crystal but monitor settings may affect the colors of your screen slightly.

All crystals have been hand-selected for quality and aesthetics so you can rest assured that you will receive a beautiful piece.
