This stunning mineral specimen showcases Pink Tourmaline, contrasting with the white-to-translucent Albite, a plagioclase feldspar with inclusions of purple lithium in Lepidolite. It has a shape reminiscent of a heart and is an excellent combination of three minerals in a medium cabinet-sized display.

Pink Tourmaline, called Rubellite in the gem industry, owes its distinctive color to the presence of manganese and lithium during its formation. Chemically, it is a boron silicate mineral with elements like aluminum, iron, and sometimes sodium. The mineral crystallizes in the trigonal system, forming prismatic crystals with vertical striations that lead to its stunning luster and clarity in high-quality specimens. Pink Tourmaline typically occurs in granite pegmatites, which are coarse-grained igneous rocks.
