Paua Abalone Seashell - New Zealand Abalone

Abalone shells are used in smoke cleansing practices to catch the hot cinders that fall away from the herb bundle or incense. In more ceremonial smudging rituals, the shell represents the water element. 

Traditional to the indigenous peoples of the Americas, smudging is a ritual to clear out negative energies, thus creating a space suitable for healing and positive energies to emerge.

Each shell will be unique with its colors, texture, and patterns formed individually by nature.
