Double Scolecite Spray from Maharastra, India. This is a fine specimen with a unique aesthetic shape due to the contact between the two sprays.

8.5cm x 7cm x 3cm 48g

Scolecite is a mineral that belongs to the zeolite group. Scolecite typically forms slender, needle-like (acicular) crystals frequently appearing in radiating aggregates. Its most common colors are colorless or white, but it can also occur in shades of pink, yellow, green, and rarely orange. The crystals can be transparent or translucent.

Scolecite is primarily found in basaltic lava flows. This region produces high-quality mineral specimens, including scolecite, often found alongside other zeolites like stilbite, apophyllite, and heulandite.  Scolecite exhibits pyroelectricity and piezoelectricity, which can create a temporary electrical charge when heated or subjected to mechanical pressure. It's also known for its ability to absorb and release water and other molecules, a characteristic feature of zeolite minerals.

This listing is for one crystal as pictured, please see all photos and videos and feel free to send a message if you have any further questions
All crystals have been hand-selected for quality and aesthetics so you can rest assured that you will receive a beautiful piece.
